The Royston Crow of North Hertfordshire
PRIVATE EDMUND SOLE
Private Edmund Sole, of the 2nd Beds. Regiment (aged 25), son of
Mr. and Mrs. Walter Sole, of North End, Kelshall, was very seriously
wounded by a bomb on 6th November, 1915, and died in Hospital at
Abbeville, France, on November 10th. The Matron, in a letter to his
parents, wrote:-
"I never in all my long experience saw a man face death so calmly and
bravely:"
He was buried at Abbeville. Pte Edmund Sole joined the New Army in September, 1914, and went out to France, May 1st, 1915.
