PRIVATE EDMUND SOLE

Private Edmund Sole, of the 2nd Beds. Regiment (aged 25), son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Sole, of North End, Kelshall, was very seriously wounded by a bomb on 6th November, 1915, and died in Hospital at Abbeville, France, on November 10th. The Matron, in a letter to his parents, wrote:-
"I never in all my long experience saw a man face death so calmly and bravely:"

He was buried at Abbeville. Pte Edmund Sole joined the New Army in September, 1914, and went out to France, May 1st, 1915.
