Robbie kept a diary from 1st January 1915 to 23rd September 1915 which has been donated to the Imperial War Museum. Copies are in the possession of Patricia Hamilton and Linda Butler. "The governor" alias W.D. to whom Robbie wrote numerous letters and gave as his next of kin is thought to be a Mr. de Vries from Ilford.
